It's hefty weight keeps it where you put it with no shifting aroud. I chose to put it on the floor of my Ford F-150 on the transmission hump, and it so covenient there. It's GREAT.Thanks a lot for the quick service. The mount was received in perfect condition,and in rcord time. It is so much better than the orignal mount (windshield mount) as it enables me to place it anywhere I want.
I had to get through to their customer service by posting a bad review on their website. This is a bad business practice. Magellan Customer service is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. By the time they responded my unit was beyond the 30 day limit and they refused to give me the update. Garmin has a 60 day guarantee which is posted directly on their website in plain view. They offer a free 30 day map update since all of their products ship with out of date maps. This would be a good thing except it is in the fine print of their products and their customer support email address that their website list is the wrong address.

It is more secure than the "suction cup" windshield stalk mount because it is not affected by temperature fluctuations causing the suction cup to release. The only drawback is that it places the GPS high off of the dashboard so shorter drivers may have issues with the GPS blocking their view. The GPS stays in place even on rough road surfaces. The Magellan Dash Mount is a very good product. Keeps the GPS fixed on the dashboard and allows quick removal without leaving behind any trace that there may be a GPS in the car (for would-be thieves).
Would recommend buying. product is easy to use, and makes using the Magellan 3000T much easier.
